This is a great app developed by a teen and is a counter to cyber bullying. We have all seen the stories about kids who sit alone at lunch or have trouble finding friends. This app allows kids to find people to sit with by allowing kids to be act as “ambassadors” and invite others to join them for lunch. They can post “open lunch” sessions so that others can come and sit with them at their table.
One of the best things about the app is that, because it is all through the phone, there is a reduced risk of public shaming of being rejected. No one has to get turned away from a table in front of their friends because they already where invited or asked to join privately on the app.
The young girl who started the app, did so because she spent her entire 7th grade year eating lunch alone.
