Pokemon GO Phone app used by armed robbers

I am not that familiar with the Pokemon Go phone app game, but I believe it is a phone app that leads players on a real life scavenger hunt.  This is one of the most popular apps out right now especially among kids.

“In Missouri, a group of armed robbers lured eight players to one of the game’s Pokestops — which is a spot in the real world that shows up on the GPS on the players’ phones and is where the character’s are located.

“Using the geolocation feature of the ‘Pokemon Go’ app, the robbers were able to anticipate the location and level of seclusion of unwitting victims,” Sgt. Bill Stringer of the O’Fallon Police Department said in a statement to Buzzfeed.”

Another girl in WY was playing the game and was lead to a dead body.

Seems like the app could be a lot of fun, but make sure you know where your kids are going and how they got the directions before you let them go on these hunts.  They could be a trap.
